IRVING, Texas — With the new 10-team Big 12 planning on dropping its title game for 2011, there is talk about moving the league’s marquee game, Texas-Oklahoma, to championship week on the first weekend in December.
The problem is the timing. The game is contracted for the venerable Cotton Bowl through 2015 and it’s always played the first Saturday in October during the Texas State Fair.
It would result in a revenue increase. It would move from the 92,000-seat Cotton Bowl in Dallas to the 111,000-seat Cowboys Stadium in neighboring Arlington....
